A New Type of Statement Shoes
Today, so many shoe styles focus on chasing trends and being the brightest or loudest in the room. But there are other ways to make a statement.
Our story began when Solwerk founder, John Stollenwerk, recognized the need in the marketplace for a high-quality, comfortable dress shoe that takes men from the boardroom to wherever they need to travel to close the next business deal. He set out to create technology-forward, sophisticated footwear never before seen by the global footwear industry.
John’s goal was to create an upstanding company, like what he experienced during his time at his father’s company, Allen-Edmonds. The result is Solwerk quality shoes that are purposely understated with high performance details so you can get business done anytime, anywhere.
The Solwerk name is a combination of John’s last name and the last name of designer, Javier Solis. The two were colleagues at a previous job and developed a close friendship. They combined John’s experience in the footwear business and Javier’s design talents to develop an idea that eventually became the Solwerk brand.
All Solwerk shoes feature our patented OneTec™ gel cushioning system. This technology is unique because the gel portion of the heel goes through the midsole, allowing your foot to sit directly on the cushioning.
